Teach Kindness honors General John Stricker Middle School outside of Baltimore, Maryland, as the 2019 Kindness Challenge Champion for its embodiment of kindness and improvement of school culture by making it a safe and supportive place for all students to thrive.

Making Kindness Commonplace

The schools recognized on this page participated in Teach Kindness, an innovative program to make schools kinder, stronger, and safer for all students. The schools designated as Kindness Champions met the rigorous expectations of the Challenge. Stand for Children and its partners applaud efforts to make kindness commonplace in their schools.

Grand Prize and Finalists

From the nearly 500 schools nationally that participated in the 2018 Fall Cycle of the Challenge, 10 schools were selected as finalists. Each school receives $1,000 in credits, made possible by the support of the Hasbro Children’s Fund. The Grand Prize winner earned an additional $4,000 in credits for a total of $5,000 in credits!
